Richard Stravens, 88
Richard was born July 8, 1924 in Spokane, WA. and son of Joseph & Florence (Cronin) Stravens and passed away September 1, 2012 in Pullman, Washington. Richard moved to Colfax when he was two years old. He graduated from Colfax High School and was drafted into the Army March, 1943. He was discharged January, 1946 completing a trip around the world including North Africa, Calcutta, Burma and China.
He married Dorothy Geiger and they had one son, Michael. He operated service stations in Colfax before owning his own contracting business. He was widowed and married Bernadine Hordemann, who also preceded him in death also preceding him in death was his sister, Mary Pat Goodyear.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Richard is survived by his son Michael, three brothers, John, James (Lorraine), Robert (Darlene) and sisters, JoAnn (Frank) Manchak, Rosemarie (Vic) Botticelli and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass to be held at 11:00 A.M on September 6 at St. Patrick's Church in Colfax, WA. Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery. On-line guest book is at www.bruningfuneralhome.com
