Robert William Brimhall, 62, Harvard
Robert Brimhall passed away January 14, 2016 after a five year battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was born Novemer 4, 1953, the youngest child and only son born to William Dale and Thelma (Stucki) Brimhall of Salt Lake City, Utah.
As a child, Robert was actively involved in organized sports. He developed his love of the outdoors from visits to his Aunt and Uncle's ranch in southeastern Idaho and from family camping trips to the Big and Little Greys Rivers in Wyoming. Later he would return to this area with his wife and friends to camp and ride horses. He occasionally returned to Corner Canyon outside of Salt Lake City where he would run his team of Siberian Husky sled dogs.
Robert received his BA degree in Elementary Education in 1976 from Westminster College in Salt Lake City. He married Karen (McKean) in 1978 and they made their home in Sandy, UT until 1989 when they moved to Harvard, ID. A lifelong dream of Robert's to homestead was fulfilled. He loved their new home, community and rural way of life.
Robert had many skills, but his favorite was woodworking. Over the years, he made many pieces of beautiful furniture for Karen and eventually took up carving to enhance his craft. When not involved in projects, Robert loved old movies and was happiest when watching a movie, dog on his lap and Karen by his side. He was also a fan of WSU football and followed the Seahawks avidly.
Robert maintained a small ranch north of Harvard which included horses, sheep, cows, and a few chickens until his health prevented him from working as ardently as he would have liked. A special thanks goes out to Gentiva Home Healthcare and Hospice for their consistently loving care during a very difficult time.
He is survived by his wife at their Harvard home; sisters Janet (Al) Hasna, and Barbara (Pat) Fivas, both of Salt Lake. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
