Obituary

"The Man, The Myth, The Legend" Robert A. "Bob" Ochs, longtime Endicott resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at the Whitman Hospital in Colfax. He was 64. Bob had recently retired from a long career with the Washington State Department of Transportation only three weeks ago. He was born October 28, 1957 in Spokane, Washington to Arnold and Helen Sarsfield Ochs. He grew up in North Spokane where he attended and graduated from Rogers High School. Following that, he obtained his Associates Degree in Agronomy/Soil Sciences from Spokane Community College. Bob moved to Alaska where he thoroughly enjoyed working for Salisbury and Deets drilling for core samples of the mineral Galena. He moved back to Spokane and married a longtime friend of his, Doreen Pettet. They moved to Garfield, Washington and they soon stated their family. While in Garfield he worked for Palouse Producers. They returned to Spokane, Washington where he worked for ROCCO INC (subdivision or R.A Hanson) while managing an apartment complex in town. They moved to Endicott in 1981 and Bob took over his father's  farm. He and Doreen expanded their family as well. Bob enjoyed all things outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, traveling, and camping. He was a great "visitor" and loved to talk and "sit back" with friends and family whenever he could. He was a vocal and loud supporter and a strong member of working unions. He was also a past member of the Jay-Cee's and the Eagles Clubs. Bob and Doreen were later divorced. He thrived as a single father, never missing a game, or concert, or event that his children were involved in. He worked as a Lead Tech for the WSDOT for over 37 years until his retirement three weeks ago. Bob is survived by his daughter Jerrica Ochs and by a son Jeremiah Ochs as well as two sisters, Linda Mitchell and Tamara Weeks. He was preceded in death by his parents and by 2 sisters, Gwen Garrett, and Pam Henshaw. Services will be planned at a later date. On-line guest book is at www.corbeillfuneralhomes.com
