Rudy, Robert E "Bob", age 90
Bob broke camp just before sunrise on May 14th, saddled up his Appaloosa and hit the trail for heaven.
When he got there, he met the rest of his party, which included his parents, five sisters, three brothers and his son, Bob Jr, as well as numerous friends and other relatives.
He leaves behind his bunkmate of nearly 70 years, Betty Morasch Rudy, and their twin daughters, Joy and Jan.
His posse also included grandchildren Randi, Nicole and Jeff, and great-grandchildren Grayson and Addison.
Bob enjoyed spending time and shootin' the breeze with family and friends, loved hunting, fishing and making sausage. Riding his horse, is where this urban cowboy was happy, whether in a local parade, in the wheatfields of the Palouse, or deep in the Blue Mountains for the annual elk hunt.
Bob could often be seen driving one of his old trucks around Colfax and will be remembered by his signature "wave" (loosely make a fist, extend your thumb and little finger, and twist your wrist back and forth twice).
After retiring from the State Highway Department, Bob's years of helping people with their painting and remodeling projects brought him great joy and fostered many long lasting relationships that spanned numerous generations.
Bob didn't like funerals, 'cuz he didn't want people to see him cry. To honor that gentle strength, no service will be held. Instead, the family suggests photos of all of you, imitating the "Rudy Wave", and posting those photos, as well as your remembrances on Facebook / Bob Rudy.
Memorials are suggested to the Colfax Volunteer Fire Dept., POB 226, Colfax, WA 99111.
