Robert Lewis Warner passed away on Sunday, February, 25, 2024 while residing in the full care unit of Bishop Place, Pullman, WA. Bob was born to Mable (Marshall) and Walter Warner in his maternal grandparents' farmhouse near Redwood Falls, MN. Bob attended three different one room country schools in Redwood County as well as public schools in Morton, Redwood Falls, and Franklin, MN where he graduated in 1955.
After 2 years in the army, he enrolled at the University of Minnesota where he received a BS in 1962 and an MS in 1964. Bob additionally earned a PhD at the University of Illinois in 1968. Bob then became a faculty member at Washington State University in the Department of Crops and Soils where he became a full Professor and retired in 2002.
Bob and Karne (Kroll) met in Minneapolis in 1962 and they married on June 13,1964. They have two daughters, Linda (Larry Benitez) and Janet (Bill Luna) and three grandchildren, Noah B, Dominic and Daphne L.
The Palouse area gave Bob the opportunity to indulge in his favorite activity -fishing. The girls learned early that weekends and summer trips would be spent camping and in the boat fishing. The family also explored National Parks and mountains, especially what the girls called "craggy peaks" where Bob enjoyed landscape photography. Bob was a longtime member of Rotary Club and Whitman County Flycasters.
The memorial service will be held at Cobreil Funeral Home, 905 S. Grand Ave., Pullman, WA on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 2pm.
