Mr. Ronald William Braun passed away peaceably on January 8th at his house in Colfax Wash. Mr. Braun was born on March 23, 1932 to Selma Johnsrud and William Otto Braun January 8th in Hibbing Minnesota. He is survived by his brother, Joe Braun, his two sons, Russell and Lars Braun and his five grandchildren, Chad, Mark, Janelle, Celia, Olin and Lance Braun and his five great grandchildren, Arya, Neel Sam, Kain Braun and Lily and Shawn Davidson. Mr. Braun served over seas in the Army during the Korean War. Mr. Braun utilized the G.I. Bill to acquire numerous degrees at the University Of Idaho. It was there that Ron achieved what he claimed to be his greatest accomplishment, marrying fellow University of Idaho classmate, Maureen Louise Abbott. In addition to that, Mr. Braun was the consummate teacher for 31 years at Colfax High school. His students would frequently prompt Mr. Braun to start a discussion about his other passion, the outdoors and hunting. Mr. Braun cooperated because he believed that any time a classroom of students became engaged with each other a lesson could be taught. Mr. Braun's contribution to the community also included sitting on the city council, volunteering for local track meets and driving school bus. Up to the time of his death, Mr. Braun continued his passion to learn and never forgot that even teachers must always strive to be a student as well. A service is open to the public and is scheduled for 1 pm January 21st at Bruning funeral home, with a reception to follow at 2:15 at the Colfax Golf Course.
