Obituary

Elmer Ronald Leinweber, age 73, lost his long fight with COPD on January 24, 2020. A graveside service for Ron will be on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Endicott Cemetery at 12:00 PM with a luncheon immediately following at the Endicott School Cafeteria. Ron was born September 21, 1946 to Abraham and Fern (Jordan) Leinweber, at Colfax, WA. He grew up on the family farm at Winona, WA graduating from Endicott High School in 1965. Ron worked after High School at the Union Pacific Railroad, Winona, and Brown and Holter Chevy in the Parts Department. He also owned and operated the Union 76 Service Station in Colfax. He later moved to Moses Lake, WA where he was an investigation for Schillberg Law Office. He then was CEO for Sun Russet Potato Factory in Warden, WA. He worked with his cousin Howard Chichester in Seattle as a meat cutter. Jim Rockwell, a long time Endicott School buddy needed help with his farm so Ron came back to help him. 22 years later Ron retired. He loved fishing and hunting and was a lifetime member of the Endicott Gun Club. The love of God and the SDA church were very important to Ron. Ron is survived by his long-time soulmate, Anne Pavelak Leinweber; his brother, Ray (Frances) Leinweber, sisters, Joan Schillberg, Cheri (David) Gilman, Susan (Glenn) Herman all of Winona, WA. Stepchildren, Paul and Andrew Pavelak, Toni Trijillo, Arnold Bernal, Jr. Bernal, Robert Bernal, Sandra Hernandez, and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Fern Leinweber, his grandparents, Joseph and Elizabeth Leinweber, James and Fila Jordan, baby brother Daryl Leinweber and loving niece Dori Jo Edstrom. Donations may be made to the Endicott Food Bank as Ron had a special place in his heart for the work the food bank does to help people of the Endicott community. He helped out there as long as he was able.
