Roy Oren "RO" Pyle, 97, a longtime Pullman, WA resident, passed away March 29, 2019 at his Pullman home.  He was born Dec. 26, 1921 in Pullman to Charles & Edna (Bowen) Pyle.  He grew up and attended Pullman schools, graduating from Pullman High School.  RO entered the United States Army during WWII and served in the Army Air Corp.  Following his honorable discharge he returned to Pullman and began his education at Washington State University on the GI Bill.  He transferred the University of Washington where he received his bachelor's degree.  Upon returning to Pullman RO married Shirley Jean Murphy on Feb. 14, 1958 in Pullman.  Together they have made Pullman their home since that day.  He worked for the Bonneville Power Administration as a draftsman for a time before opening his own roofing & siding company.  He operated R.O. Roofing & Siding Company for many years.  Throughout his life he enjoyed politics, golf and telling a good joke.  He especially enjoyed talking and telling stories to anyone who would listen.  RO is survived by Shirley his wife of 61 years at their Pullman home.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his four siblings Evelyn Pyle Abendroth, Delmer Pyle, James Pyle and Charlotte Pyle Turner.  A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Pullman City Cemetery.  Kimball Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
