Obituary

Roy Alan Wolfe passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on October 29th at the age of 72.

Born in Everett WA on May 1, 1953 to William and Greta Wolfe, Roy grew up on a four-acre wooded wonderland in Lake Stevens WA, where he and his brother, Rich, learned a deep love and respect for the land. During his school years, Roy was an avid cross-country runner and was very involved in the Boy Scouts of America program earning the highest scouting rank of Eagle Scout. Roy graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1971.

After earning his degree in Agricultural Education from Washington State University, Roy accepted his first teaching job as Ag instructor at Endicott High School. He married Debbie Scheuerman in 1979, and together they welcomed three amazing children: Jared, Katie and Andrew. Roy fell in love with Endicott and farming in the Palouse. Roy served as a leader in local Boy Scout troops and was dedicated to fostering faith and developing life skills in the lives of the local youth.

Roy was an outdoorsman of the highest order. His love of logging took him all around the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, and working in the woods was amongst his greatest joys. He was a gifted artist and woodworker, crafting beautiful carvings and furniture.

Roy had an enthusiastic love for his family and friends. He had remarkable recall of the lives and histories of the people he knew and loved. If you received an unsolicited letter, a phone call or a knock on your door, it was because, in his way, he cared for you.

Amidst physical and mental health struggles, Roy's faith in Jesus Christ remained steadfast. He gave freely to those in need, even in spite of his own great need. He honored young and old alike, the mighty and the lowly, the familiar and the stranger. On his last day of life, his Bible lay opened on his bed- one final minute in God's word before walking into the waiting arms of his Savior.

Roy is survived by his three children, Jared (Sarah) Wolfe of Richland, WA, Katie Wolfe (Phillip Franz) of Richwood, OH, Andrew (Stephanie) Wolfe of Endicott, WA, four grandchildren, Jack, Edie, Mila and Mae, nephew Nick (Emily) Wolfe of Snohomish, WA and nieces Lyla, Ruby and Cora. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother.

Roy will be laid to rest at the Endicott cemetery following a private family memorial service. Memorials are suggested to:
