IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruby M.
Fleischman
December 13, 1928 – April 13, 2018
Ruby M. Fleischman, 89, of Pullman
Ruby Marie Anderson Fleischman passed away peacefully Friday, April 13, 2018, at Regency Assisted Living. Ruby and her twin, Ruth, were born on December 13, 1928 to Selma (Roskammer) and George Anderson in Genesee, Idaho. She came into this world on a Friday the 13th and left us on Friday the 13th. She grew up in Genesee and graduated from Genesee High School in 1947. After graduation she went to work for Genesee Union Warehouse as a bookkeeper and so her bookkeeping and banking career began.
On September 12, 1952 she married Lee Fleischman from Uniontown, Washington and she and Lee moved to Pullman. When Lee asked her father if he could marry her, her dad said it was fine as long as she still came home and milked the cows every day. So, that was the arrangement and she milked cows until she found she was pregnant in early 1953 and her cow milking days were over.
Ruby started working for Pullman Savings and Loan in 1953, becoming manager. Many a local Pullmanite remembers opening their first savings account with her. Pullman Savings and Loan later merged with Washington Mutual (now Chase) and Ruby continued working for them until her retirement January 13, 1983.
After retirement, she and Lee enjoyed an active life living in Pullman in the summer and Sun City, Arizona in the winter. They traveled the U.S. in their motor home, taking in all the sites. She enjoyed square dancing, swimming, 10 pin bowling, lawn bowling, fishing and golfing. She even got a hole in one golfing. In 2010 she and Lee moved back to Pullman full-time.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Joanne (Doug) Rudolph, of Pullman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, who passed away October 21, 2017. They celebrated 65 years together in September of 2017. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Dorothy, her twin sister, Ruth, and her brothers Ralph and Kenny. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She will always be remembered as a happy and fun person to be with. We will miss her dearly.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Regency Assisted Living and Kindred Hospice for their loving care of Ruby over these past few years.
At her request, there will be a small family service at a later date. Interment will be at the Pullman City Cemetery with her husband, Lee. Kimball Funeral Home of Pullman is caring for the family. Online condolences may be sent to www.kimballfh.com
