RUTH E. ALONSO, 71, of Pullman, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at Pullman Regional Hospital. Ruth was born May 25, 1942 in Boise, Idaho to Vaun & Annie Mae (Hall) Young. Ruth grew up in Weiser, ID and graduated from Weiser High School. She raised her four children by herself and on several occasions moved back and forth across the United States. She was a devoted to her family and was first & foremost "GRAM". Through the years Ruth worked as a manager for Subway Sandwich Shops at various locations. She moved to Pullman, Washington six years ago to live near her daughter Neta and be close to some of her grandchildren. Her time spent with granddaughter Tammy Sky was of special significance to Ruth. She had many interests throughout her life especially enjoying horses, dogs, Shakespeare and Jane Austin. Ruth is survived by her two daughters Neta Hoff of Pullman; Carolyn Hamilton of Fresno, CA; her two sons Raymond W.B. Young living in Georgia; Stephen Alonso living in Florida; her sister Ethel Mitchell and her eight grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Ruth's life.
