Ruth Helen (Christofferson) Blyleven, 84, of Genesee, ID passed away April 5, 2018 at Pullman Regional Hospital.  Ruth was born Sept. 15, 1933 in Mason City, Iowa to Sherman and Birdie (Gleason) Christofferson.  She was one of 16 children, so she always had a lot of fun playing with her siblings.  Ruth worked cleaning cabins, helped at home and raised her daughter Rebecca.  Her mother moved to Woodlake, CA and Ruth and Becky went along.  She met Gary Blyleven who worked at his parent's grocery store and when he saw Ruth it was love at first sight.  They were married shortly after.  Gary had 7 children from his previous marriage so that made for a busy household.  Ruth enjoyed gardening, sewing, and reading.  Gary retired in 1993 and they packed up and moved to Genesee, ID.  They enjoyed fishing and being close to some of their grandchildren in later years.  Ruth is survived by her children Rebecca Blyleven of Genesee; Mark (Carol) Blyleven of Genesee; Kathy Gonzales of Lakeport, CA; Tony Blyleven of Lakeport, CA; Therese Blyleven Paiva of Lucerne, CA; Dana Blyleven (Michelle) of Friday Harbor, WA & Cindy Hardin of Visalia, CA.  The family would like to thanks the Good Samaritan Nursing Home and Pullman Regional Hospital staff.  You were very comforting in a difficult time.  Kimball Funeral Home of Pullman, WA has been entrusted with arrangements.  Ruth's memorial services will be planned for a later date.
