Obituary

Saundra “Sandi” Lynn Glorfield (Knittel) passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose faith, kindness, and quiet strength touched all who knew her. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with her Lord and Savior.

Sandi was born in Aberdeen South Dakota, and later moved to St. John, Washington, where she attended St. John School District and formed lifelong friendships. Sandi further attended the Kelsey-Baird Secretarial School in Spokane. She was the daughter of Arthur A. Knittel and Elva Juanita “Gussie” Hayes Knittel Menning and was raised with strong family values and a deep Christian faith. She shared a lifelong bond with her siblings, Sherri Pagliari, Ronald Arthur Knittel, and Richard Allen Knittel.

She married Jack Robert “Bob” Glorfield Jr., the love of her life, and together they shared 60 years of marriage. They built their life on the family farm, raising their children, supportive grandparents and creating lasting memories. Their marriage was grounded in love, faith, and hard work. Bob continues to reside at the farmhouse they called home.

A devoted homemaker and bookkeeper for the family farm and ranch, Sandi created a warm home while managing farm records with care and precision. She was known for her gentleness, patience, and steady kindness. Her faith guided her life and was reflected in her service to her church through volunteering, church board work, Vacation Bible School, and a mission trip to Honduras.

Sandi also served her community with compassion. As a cancer survivor, she volunteered with the Cancer Society, served as President of the Whitman County Transplant Fund, and was active in the St. John Garden Club and her quilting group. Whether tending flowers, quilting, or helping others, she lived a life of service and connection.

Above all, Sandi treasured her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, siblings, nieces and nephews were her greatest joy, and her home was filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Robert “Bob” Glorfield Jr.; sons Rob Glorfield and Doug Glorfield; daughters-in-law Kellie Glorfield and Jamie Lee Glorfield; grandchildren Lane Glorfield, Abby Jaeger, and Jamie Glorfield; granddaughter-in-law Felicity Glorfield; grandson-in-law Dorian Jaeger; and great-granddaughter Nova Rae Jaeger. She is also survived by her sister, Sherri Pagliari; brother, Ronald Arthur Knittel; and many extended family members and dear friends.

Sandi’s life was defined by faith, humility, love, and service, leaving a legacy of kindness and quiet strength.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. John Community Building. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor her life.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered, with the comfort of knowing she is at peace in the presence of her Savior.
