Scott Andrew Johnston (32), was born on November 20, 1981. He was shot and killed by two teenagers who broke into his home in the early hours of January 2, 2014 at Seneca, SC. He is survived by his parents Ellen and Bill Johnston, Pullman, WA, sister Miriam (Casey Lowe) Johnston, longtime girlfriend Jodi Corley, Greenwood, SC, aunt Miriam (John) Saxon, Hillsborough, NC, uncle Cliff (Evie) Johnston, Johnson Creek, NY, uncle Rick (Joyce) Johnston, Lantana, FL, uncle Paul Johnston, Monroeville, PA, and his cousins Jessica, New Bern, NC; Neal Saxon, Durham, NC; Nicole Scalisi, Lantana, FL; Gretchen Owen, Johnson Creek, NY; and Chris Johnston, Medina, NY. Scott was a gentle soul. He loved his friends as family. They were his brothers and sisters. He loved Jodi and they were making plans to marry soon.
Scott graduated from Pullman High School in 2000, was an Eagle Scout with Pullman troop 460, a deacon at Pullman Presbyterian Church, and while at Pullman High School and WSU an avid disc jockey for KZUU. He loved golfing (especially with his dad), music, art, and reading. He also loved animals, especially his cat Mr. Mostly Mittens and the two ferrets. Scott was a fantastic dresser, dancer, and knew how to entertain his family and friends. He played in several bands in Pullman, Portland, and Seattle and frequented concerts at venues through out the Northwest. Scott played trumpet, piano, organ (he and Jodi owned two), drums, banjo, ukelele, and guitar.

Scott's memorial service will be Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 1 PM at the Pullman Presbyterian Church with the Reverends Miriam Saxon and Dan Saperstein officiating. A reception will follow from 2-5 PM at Banyan's on the Ridge pavilion at the WSU Palouse Ridge Golf Course in Pullman.
