IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shane Tyler
Williams
March 4, 1976 – April 13, 2018
Shane Tyler Williams
On February 9th, 1978 we were given the most precious gift of a child, Shane Tyler Williams, born on March 4, 1976. Today we announce his passing on April 13, 2018 at Pullman Regional Hospital.
Shane was a beautiful child with the biggest dimples and wonderful smile. He joined us as though he had always been with us.
He grew to be a most kind hearted person, amazing athlete, and a loving brother to the two boys who joined us later, Ian and Casey.
Shane was at risk for Huntington's Disease and unfortunately he carried the gene. As a teen and young man he began to exhibit symptoms and he chose to be tested when he was 24. It was a positive test. Times were tough for a while but after we attended a Huntington's Disease National Convention and met so many other kids and adults who had this disease he flourished. He was no longer alone.
He was always happy, never complained about his lot in life and lived a good life with us and with faithful friends and family. He met each loss with ease. He loved sports, movies, and audiobooks. He was content.
In his 30's he met his biological dad, Robert "Swede" Dunmire. It was a wonderful experience for us all. He was so happy to see someone who looked like him. We have maintained a relationship ever since.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his amazing brother, Ian.
He is survived by his parents, Annette and Wayne Williams, his brothers, Casey, Kevin and Ken Williams, and Gerrit Schimke, his sisters, Kim Flotlin and Karen White. His marvelous cousin, Deb Davidson who helped care for him in his last year and many cousins, aunts and uncles and his loving biological father, Swede Dunmire.
We give thanks to the staff at Pullman Memorial Hospital who shed tears with us, fell in love with him and cared for us. They made our week at the hospital so special. We especially wish to thank his doctor, Nancy Gregory, who helped us so on this journey. The loving nurses who attended to him and Sarah, the hospital social worker. Thank you Aleta and Nick for your love and care and Mollie Ressa who spent a night with Shane so we could get some sleep.
A celebration of Shane's life will be held this summer. We look forward to seeing his friends and family. Kimball Funeral Home of Pullman, WA has been entrusted with arrangements.
