Obituary

Sharon Taylor Forster, 71, a longtime Pullman, WA resident passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord after losing her courageous battle with cancer at her daughter Melanie Taylor Smithee and son-in- law Dale's home in Moscow, ID on Jan. 30, 2018. Sharon was born the oldest of three girls to Ira & Marie (Rine) Lichtenbarger on April 27, 1946 in Harlowton, MT. She grew up and went to school in Harlowton graduating from high school in 1964. Sharon moved to Great Falls, MT and while attending Great Falls Commercial College in 1965 met her first husband Lyle Taylor who was from Grand Forks, ND. Sharon and Lyle were married on May 4,
1966 following Lyle's return home from the Navy. Sharon had finished and graduated from college by this time. Following Lyle's career they moved to Pullman in 1968. On June 7 th of that year Melanie Yvonne was born and three years later on March 13 th of 1971 they had a son, Brian Kenneth. In 1972 they purchased their first home where Sharon has lived for 42 years.
Sharon was a stay at home mom until the 1980's when she started working at WSU in the secretarial field. She moved around with various jobs at the university until she settled in French Ad, working for student accounts until she retired. Lyle preceded Sharon in death in 1993. Sharon met and married Howard Forster in 1998. They enjoyed playing darts and loved traveling the Oregon coast, visiting and admiring the lighthouses along the way. Howard passed away in 2013. Sharon loved to spend time with her family, visiting and barbequing. She held each family member close in a special place in her heart. Sharon never spoke a cross word or
never had a negative thing to say about anyone. She indeed had a special spirit about her. Sharon also loved music especially singing and playing the piano. She could always be found in her garden & doing cross stich in her spare time. Sharon is survived by her daughter Melanie (Dale) Smithee of Moscow; her son Brian Taylor; stepdaughter Kelly Helfrich living in Canada; three grandchildren Brandon & Micheal Taylor; Jacob Helfrich; two sisters Janine Fredin & Marcia Why. The memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018 at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman, WA. Graveside services will be held later at the Harlowton Cemetery in Harlowton, Montana.
