IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shirley Patricia
"Pat" Lane
March 17, 1932 – August 5, 2025
Shirley Patricia "Pat" Lane, 93, of Pullman, WA passed away August 5, 2025 at her Pullman home. She was born to Harry & Evelyn (West) Womack on March 17, 1932 in Ritzville, WA. Pat lived in Ritzville most of her young life and graduated from Ritzville High School. She worked for Dr. Marvin McBeah as a receptionist and later as his dental assistant.
She married Duane Lane on October 21, 1950. They had four sons Ron, Bill, John & Bob. In 1954 they moved to Lewiston, ID where they lived until 1964 when the family moved to Pullman and Duane opened his own electronics store (Pullman Radio & TV). After the boys were in school Pat worked in the store keeping books and helping Duane. She later opened her own antique and gift shop. Pat was a member of the Business and Professional Women during her working years in Pullman.
Pat always loved crafts and antiques, and had craft and food sales in her home. Her cookie jar was seldom empty. She not only crafted things to sell, but gave many things to friends. For many years Pat made hats and scarves for Pullman Child Welfare and newborn infants at the hospital. The money she made went mostly to her church, the hospital or an organization she had an interest in.
Pat loved to cook and hosted many dinner parties. She wrote two books "Cooking on the Road" and "Trapshooters or I Had a Fly on my Barrel". Pat had a great love for gardening and she shared her flowers and raspberries with many friends, shut-ins and people in her church. Pat was a devoted member of Community Congregational United Church of Christ in Pullman. She sang in the choir, was on the church flower committee, served as an Elder and Deacon and
worked in the church's Thrift Shop.
Pat loved to travel, fish, trap shoot, grow flowers, cook, make hand crafts and collect antiques. Pat and Duane spent a year touring the country in their 5th wheel seeing the many wonders of our country where she had a ball meeting new people and talking to them about their lives . She kept a journal of all their wonderful experiences that year.
There was a fun and crazy side to Pat as well. She loved to dress up for the Johnson Parade and Halloween. She had many costumes and wigs and never told anyone who she was, but always had a big smile for all. Her biggest love of all was her husband and their children. She never missed any of their activities from band concerts to football, basketball and baseball games, and many track meets. This love continued when the grandchildren came along.
She is survived by her sons Bob Lane; Ron Lane &; Bill Lane; her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Duane, son John and her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 2 PM at the Community Congregational United Church of Christ in Pullman, WA. Pat will be laid to rest at the Pullman City Cemetery with her husband Duane.
