Obituary

SHIRLEY J. ROBERTSON, 83, of Pullman, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Whitman Senior Living in Pullman, WA. Shirley was born July 4, 1931 in Tacoma, WA to Gerald & Jean (Potter) Mason. She grew up in Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High School. Shirley was a talented pianist and earned a scholarship to attend WSU. She taught piano in her home until 1968 when she received her teaching degree from Pacific Lutheran University, following which she began her teaching career. Shirley taught music and later third and fourth grades at Manitou Elementary School in Tacoma until retiring in 1996. She was an avid sports person who enjoyed fishing, camping, NASCAR, the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks. Shirley also enjoyed playing pinochle. She has made Whitman Senior Living her home for the past five years, living close to her daughter. Shirley was especially fond of her cat "Cindy" who was always by her side. She is survived by her daughter Janie (Russ) Salvadalena of Pullman; her son John Gleason of Vaughn, WA; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by a son Jerry Gleason. A private family service will be held in Western Washington. Kimball Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
