Obituary

In Loving Memory of Soai Chau

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend Soai who passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Oct 1, 2026.

For more than 30 years, she called Pullman, Washington, home. Over those many decades, she became more than a member of the community, she became a familiar and cherished part of it. She built a life filled with family, friendships, laughter, and countless memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

She was a wonderful and devoted wife to her late husband Thanh Lam and a loving mother to her children, Loi Lam, Minh Lam, Dinh Lam, Ngoc Lam, and Tony Lam. Her family was her greatest joy and her proudest accomplishment. She poured her love into her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always making sure they knew they were loved and cared for.

To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was so much more than a grandmother. She was a source of comfort, laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her presence brought a warmth to every family gathering, and her absence will leave a space that can never truly be filled.

She had a personality that was impossible to forget. She was always the life of the party. Her infectious attitude and joyful spirit had a way of making everyone around her feel happier. She could brighten a room simply by being in it, and her laughter, stories, and unmistakable personality brought people together. She never needed a special occasion to celebrate, she had a way of making ordinary moments feel special.

Those who knew her will remember her not only for the love she gave her family, but for the happiness she brought to others. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, included, and loved. Her kindness and vibrant spirit touched generations of family, friends, and members of the Pullman community.

She always enjoyed a good trip to the casino. She loved the excitement, the lights, the games, and, of course, the hope of hitting that lucky jackpot.

Although our hearts are broken by her passing, we are grateful for the many years we were blessed to have her. We will carry her memory in our family traditions, in the stories we tell, in the laughter we share, and in the love she so freely gave us.

She leaves behind her children, Dinh Lam, Ngoc Lam, and Tony Lam; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended family; and countless friends whose lives were made brighter simply because they knew her.

Her life was a gift, her love was her legacy, and her memory will live on in all of us.

The family will be holding a traditional Buddhist prayer ceremony in her honor on Thursday, October 8th, at 9:00 a.m. at Corbeill Funeral Home – Pullman 905 S. Grand Ave, Pullman, WA 99163.

Friends, family, and members of the community are warmly welcome to join us in prayer, pay their respects, and say their final farewells as we celebrate and honor her life.
