Steven M. Westberg, 64, of Pullman passed away at his home on May 26, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 6 at the Pullman Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow.
Steve was born on March 3, 1951 at Salina, Kansas, the middle son of Harold & Margaret (McLean) Westberg. He grew up in Salina and graduated high school there in 1969. Shortly thereafter he married Linda Ross and the couple moved to Moscow where Steve attended the University of Idaho and earned his bachelors degree in accounting. That marriage ended later in divorce.
Steve worked various jobs for a time before becoming an accountant with Associated Independent Agencies (now HUB Insurance) in Pullman. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and riding his motorcycle. He was extensively involved in volunteer projects with the University of Idaho Wildlife Biology department, participating in studies regarding wolves.
Steve is survived by his son Gabe (Carrie) Westberg of Park City, Utah and daughter Maggi Westberg of Santa Barbara, California as well as brothers Rob and Jim of Kansas. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Memorial contributions in Steve's honor are suggested to the Wildlife Biology program at the University of Idaho or to a charity of choice. Kimball Funeral Home & Crematory of Pullman has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
