Obituary

Our sweet mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, Susan Margaret Mills, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 8, 2026, in LaCrosse, Washington.

She was born on July 27, 1955, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Kenneth and Betty Roark, and was one of eight children. She grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, where she later met and married, and together they had three children: Angela Heidi Stone (Ronald Stone), Timothy “Rocky” Anglim, and Mollie Molene Anglim.

Susan worked as a medical professional in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Everett, Washington. During those years, she was able to watch her six grandchildren grow up: Lacey Anglim (Mike Wood), Megan Whitfield (Chase Whitfield), Tristan Stone, Jenika Anglim, Jacob Anglim, and Austin Wright.

After retiring, she spent many years in Colorado near her siblings and is survived by her sister, Penny Ballman of Windsor, Colorado. She later returned to Washington to be closer to her children, grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Mimi.” In her final years, she lived on a farm surrounded by her beloved cats and dogs and was able to witness the birth of her youngest great-grandson.

Susan was truly the life of the party. She never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel like family—so much so that many who met her called her Mom or Grandma right away. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed playing games, and never turned down her favorite snack peas and chocolate.

She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and laughter and will be missed every single day.

In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated, and a celebration of life will take place this summer in Washington.
