Tammie Rae Rounds, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2026, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington. Born on June 5, 1959, in Grangeville, Idaho, she was a vibrant spirit who carried warmth, kindness, and resilience throughout her life.
Tammie's early years were spent in various towns, starting in Grangeville before moving to Kamiah, Pullman, and finally Palouse. Her adventures led her to Lakewood, California, where she graduated high school with the class of 1977. In 1980, she became a proud mother to her first daughter, Kristin, and in 1988, she welcomed a second daughter, Allison. Tammie made her home in Colfax in 1984, where she would build a life filled with love and connection.
Tammie was not only a dedicated family woman but also committed to her career, serving as a social worker for DSHS in Colfax for over 30 years until her retirement in 2016 at the age of 56. Her work reflected her compassionate nature and her unwavering desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
On September 28, 1996, Tammie married Richard Rounds and gained a third daughter Leslie, embracing the beauty of blended families. Together, they stitched their lives together with love and support.
Among her greatest joys were the moments spent with her grandchildren, Noelle, Richard, and Jasmine, as she proudly embraced her role as grandmother. Tammie was also known for her love of the outdoors, finding happiness in camping and fishing, where she often created lasting memories with her loved ones.
Tammie is survived by her daughters; Kristin Petzsch, of Colfax, Allison Regnier (Tim), of Spokane Valley, and Leslie Rounds, of Colfax; her sister Debbie Finnell, and brothers Roy Anderson (Elizabeth) and George Anderson (Kim). She treasured the time shared with her grandchildren and cherished her several nieces and nephews. Each of these relationships brought her immense joy and laughter.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor both Richard and Tammie on April 11, 2026, at The Eagle's Club in Colfax at 4:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to come together to share their fond memories and to remember their spirits.
Tammie Rae Rounds leaves behind a legacy full of love, laughter, and cherished moments, forever remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
