Tammy Lu Bailey, longtime St. John resident, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025 at Bishop Place in Pullman. She was 66. A gathering to celebrate her life will be on Friday, December 19th, at Noon at the St. John Community Building. Tammy will be laid to rest privately at the St. John Cemetery.

She was born April 1, 1959 in Colfax to Dick and Dolores Dickinson Fitzgerald. Tammy married Bruce Bailey in St. John on May 8, 1982. Together they made the family ranch their home where they raised cattle and farmed.  She loved the cows, and had names for all of them through the years.  Tammy did the record keeping for the ranch as well. She loved gardening and often canned much of her bounty. She also had beautiful flower gardens, was very crafty with her hands and enjoyed quilting. Tammy also had a kiln in their home and made beautiful ceramic pieces. She worked at the lab in the soil conservation office in St. John for many years. She also planned, organized, and did much of the cooking for the Senior Banquet in St. John for many, many years.

Tammy is survived by her son Blake Bailey of St. John; her sister, Brenda Trunkey, St. John, and brothers-in-law Gary (Linda) Bailey of St. John; Mark (Jamie) Bailey of St. John; and Bob Stiffler of Cheney, and her many nieces, and nephews whom she loved dearly.  Tammy was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce, her parents and a sister, Sue Stiffler.
