Tana Lynn Kopf passed away with her family by her side on October 8, 2017 at Fairwood Memory Care in Spokane, Washington. She was 65. Tana was born on December 4, 1951 in Pullman, Washington. Tana enjoyed horses, participated in rodeo and was a rodeo princess in
1970. That same year she graduated Pullman High School and married Gary Kopf, her husband of 47 years. Following high school she attended Kinman Business School in Spokane then followed Gary through his military career. During those years their son Tony was born. Soon after they moved back to her grandfather Carl Boyd's farm they added a daughter, Andrea, to their family. Tana enjoyed raising their children and also studied to receive her commercial pilot license and instructor license then went to work as a flight instructor and pilot at Lewiston Aviation. Later on she worked as an insurance agent, a medical insurance biller for doctors in the
Tri Cities and also received her real estate license. Tana loved sports, any she could talk her husband into doing or any she could watch her grandchildren play. She and Gary often found themselves traveling, boating, jet skiing, snowmobiling, and spending time with close friends. They spent many summers at Coeur d'Alene Lake and have cherished moments with their family at Priest Lake. Throughout the years she really had a lot of fun with the challenge of keeping Gary in line. Most of all, Tana loved spending time with her grandchildren. It was impossible to not be affected by her sweet spirit. The children of some of her close friends would even lovingly refer to her as "Auntie Tana." She had a smile that would brighten anyone's day no matter who or where she was at that moment and she will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Gary; her two children, Anthony (Kimberly) Kopf of Spokane and Andrea (Thomas) Meyer also of Spokane; 6 granddaughters, Alyssa (Taylor), Courtney, Shelby, Samantha, Erica and Nicole; 1 great-grandson, Isaiah and by her brother Richard Eggers of California, her parents and two other siblings. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Kimball Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at the Pullman City Cemetery. Memorial Donations in lieu of flowers are suggested to Horizon
Hospice of Spokane or to the Alzheimer's Association. A special thank you to Debbie and Pete Steiner for their many visits and to Horizon Hospice of Spokane and the staff at Fairwood
Memory Care.
