Laurie spent her career working with diverse populations, teaching writing and English as a Second Language, and working with dislocated workers as a vocational rehabilitation counselor.  She spent her adult life living in areas of the Pacific Northwest, and her last year's specifically in Omak and Pullman Washington.

Laurie loved quirky movies, literature, murder mysteries, chocolate and dogs.  She liked hiking and kayaking.  She had many wonderful friends.
