Obituary

Vicki Merlene Cochrane, 67, of LaCrosse, passed away unexpectedly at her home on April 8, 2015. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Vicki was born on August, 1947 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Robert & Carlita Lane. She grew up in Lincoln and graduated high school there in 1965. She moved to Montana where she lived briefly before moving to Seattle-Tacoma where she lived for nearly 30 years. Throughout her life Vicki was a true Renaisance woman, working in a variety of different fields and industries. She did everything from selling Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks, owning her own antique shops, teaching vehicle painting techniques for Sherwin-Williams, and working as a police dispatcher. For some time she worked numerous jobs to put her children through school. On March 11, 2000 she married Allen Cochrane in Elbe, WA, at the base of Mount Rainier. They moved to the Whitman County area thirteen years ago. She and Allen attended the Onecho Bible Church. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, sewing, knitting and raising chickens. She was a gourmet chef and loved to spoil her husband. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Vicki is survived by her husband Allen at their home; daughter Nancy (Steve) Selk of Endicott; son Barry Bloch of Orting, Washington; stepchildren Ric (Kate) Cochrane of Seattle and Crista (Dean) Dumais of Tacoma; brother Jim (Joan) Lane of Florida and John (Patti) Lane of Lincoln and her mother Carlita Lane of Lincoln as well as five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and her sister Nancy. Memorial contributions in Vicki's honor are suggested to the Onecho Bible Church or to Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse program. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax has been entrusted with funeral arrangements
