Victor R. Reiber, 85, of Palouse, died February 18, 2011, in Pullman. Born January 8, 1926 in Colfax, he was the son of Harry Reiber and Anna Jaekel Reiber. Victor was a veteran of World War II and was injured during in the Phillipines as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division. After leaving the service, he became a mail carrier for Washington State University, a position he held and enjoyed for over 36 years. Victor's biggest passions in life were his family as well as spending time with great friends in Palouse. He really loved going out to eat and was eager every other year to purchase a brand new pickup truck. He married Bernice Iverson and had one son and two daughters with her, and after 25 years of marriage the two later divorced. Survivors include his daughter, Vernie Mae Lewis of Winlock, WA; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. At the family's request, there will be a private graveside service at a later date.
