Violet Templeton, life long Colfax area resident, passed away September 5, 2011 at the Fleur de Lis Retirement Home in Kennewick where she had lived for the last two years. Violet was born June 3, 1920 in Colfax to E.W. and Ellen Kroll. She graduated from Colfax High School at the age of 16 and then attended WSC for two years. She married Richard Templeton in 1941 and they celebrated their 40th anniversary shortly before his death. She was a homemaker and farmer in the Wilcox area with her husband for many years. Violet taught Sunday School for many years and especially enjoyed playing the piano for the youngsters to sing on Sunday mornings. Singing in the church choir was a real joy for her. For years she designed the Wilcox fair booth. Grange was important to her as well. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn (Jim Imeson) and a son Steve (LeRae) Templeton, 5 grandchildren; Tracey (Alan) Adams, Todd Imeson, Tina (Jason) Hubert, Kelli (Jon) Zak and Rick (Kelsey) Templeton; three great-grandchildren, JD and Lindsay Hubert and Peyton Adams; her sister, Iris Kramlich, sisters-in-law Esther Kroll and Peggy Vorba and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 8th at 11:00 am in the Colfax Cemetery. Pastor Richard May officiating.
