Obituary

Wanda Lee Brown passed away January 28, 2012 in Colfax. Wanda was born March 29, 1922 in Valier, Montana to Lloyd and Laura Brooks. The family moved to Steptoe, WA in 1926 where she graduated from Steptoe High School in 1940. On November 2, 1940 she married Hermon Elvin Brown where they made their home in Oakesdale. Wanda retired from the Oakesdale School District where she was a librarian and cook. She was currently an active member in Bridge Club and Oakesdale Museum. Other activities over the years also included Granite Hill Club, Bowling League and Red Hat Club. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, canning, baking and watching the Cougar/Gonzaga teams. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband in 1972, son Bob Brown and grandson Robby Brown. Wanda is survived by her sons Ron (Carol) Brown, Dick (Debbie) Brown, Larry (Cheryle) Brown and Mike (Laurie) Brown, daughter Diane (Bob) Duncan, 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Bruning Funeral Home 109 N Mill St. Colfax on Wednesday and Thursday from 9 to 5. Services will be held Friday February 3 at 1:00PM at Oakesdale Presbyterian Church with graveside following at Oakesdale Cemetery.
