OBITUARY: WENDELL HERRETT
(August 19, 1930-December 3, 2018)
Wendell Herrett passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 3, 2018 at the age of 88 at Pullman Regional Hospital in Pullman, WA. Wendell was born and raised in Kellogg, Idaho, graduated in Dairy Science from the University of Idaho. Wendell married his life-long wife of 66 wonderful years, Thursa Jean Winget, in San Francisco on August 6, 1952. They had a great life, first when Wendell was a pilot in the United States Air Force. They moved 21 times total (including living in Japan and Turkey) where Wendell worked mainly in the Dairy Industry after his four years as a pilot in the Air Force, and Thursa taught in many different situations receiving her M.A. in Education from Washington State University. Wendell retired from Washington State University in 1994. He enjoyed being with friends and family, reading, learning, walking, golfing, and huckleberry picking. He was a very inspirational man to all who knew him. He lived his life fully each day with strength and kindness. Wendell is survived by his wife, Thursa Herrett, and his four daughters. Teresa and husband Keith Peters live in Arizona, Alison and husband Steve Wright live in California, Darcy Herrett lives in Hansville, Washington, and Laura and husband Gerald Hill live in Utah. Wendell is also survived by his four grandchildren, Heather, Kristen, Chad, and Andy, and three great grandchildren, Noah James, Aiden, and Samuel. His family would like to thank the Pullman Regional Hospital and the doctors and nurses there for their extremely kind and professional care of Wendell and his entire family. They went above and beyond to make sure that everyone was very well taken care of. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to the Pullman Regional Hospital Foundation in the memory of Wendell Herrett. A "Celebration of Life" will be planned for him at a later date. Kimball Funeral Home of Pullman, WA has been entrusted with arrangements.
