William "Bill"
Roberts
June 23, 1946 – April 30, 2026
William “Wild Bill” Roberts (1946–2026)
The world became a little less bright on April 30th, 2026, with the passing of William “Wild Bill” Roberts. Born on June 23, 1946 in Manistique, MI to William and Paula Robert. Bill spent his life building a home for his wife and their two children with the understanding that nothing ever came for free and having a good work ethic will get you remembered. He was a man who found joy in walking his dogs, riding his Harley to Boyer, and living life to his fullest. He was best known for his infectious smile, ability to make anyone laugh, life of the party, no holds bar attitude, hardworking, unending humor brought joy to everyone around him, and the ability to show up to help whenever it was needed with no favors asked in return. Whether he was telling jokes, riding his Harley, lighting fireworks, or just being a shoulder to lean on, Bill made every moment unforgettable. There is one story that’ll never seem to leave Whitman County and cement Wild Bill in the books for ages and that will always be “The Dirty Dozen.”
As a jack of all trades, Bill spent over 40 years in the construction industry that included roofing, concrete finisher, and maintenance lead. He took immense pride in his work and never left a customer unsatisfied
His greatest joy, however, was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife Jane Roberts, his children, Jeremiah “JW” Roberts (Sarina Campbell-Roberts), and Joshua Roberts; his grandchildren, MaKenna “Kenna” Roberts-Wilson (Justin Wilson), Madison “Maddie” Roberts-Pennington (Jackson Pennington), Anna “Ryann” Roberts, and great-grandson Orion Pennington, who he was able to hold a few weeks before his passing. He was preceded in death by William Roberts-father, Paula Anderson-mother, Paula Reeves-sister, Ellen Boyd-sister, and Linda Reece-sister.
At this time, we are planning a celebration of life at a later date that we would enjoy and love for anyone and everyone that knew Wild Bill to come and share some stories and remember the good times. This isn’t a goodbye, but we will see you later. You will be missed by so many, loved by all, and never forgotten.
