WILLIAM H. "BILL" BOYD, JR., 75, a lifelong Pullman resident, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 at his home outside of Pullman. Bill was born Oct. 5, 1938 to William & Velma (Baldwin) Boyd, SR at the family home on Staley Road, outside of Pullman. He attended school in Pullman. After finishing school Bill began his farming career with his father on the Staley Ranch. Bill farmed his entire life until his retirement in 2003. He married Vicki Farmer and together they had two children Chad and LeAnn. Vicki passed away in 1982. Bill married Linda Holt in 1985 and together they raised the family. Bill loved operating his own ultra light aircraft and flying around the Palouse buzzing neighbors while they were out farming their fields. He also loved keeping track of his children while he would buzz them to let them know he was watching what they were doing. He enjoyed creating things in his shop and was a talented fabricator. Bill is survived by his son Chad Boyd and wife Anna of Pullman; his daughter LeAnn Ettl and husband Larry of Pullman; a sister Bonnie Christian; two grandchildren Daniel Keifer & Robin Keifer-Hevly and four great grandchildren. In addition to his first wife Vicki, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Linda in 2005 and his parents. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman, WA. Concluding services will follow at the Pullman Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Whitman County Fire District #12 or a charity of ones choice. The family will also be having a social gathering after the services out at the John Semingson Shop at 801 Staley Road. Please bring a potluck dish to share and your own beverage.
