IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Willis Gerald
(Jerry) Worthy
September 1, 1932 – April 8, 2025
Willis Gerald (Jerry) Worthy peacefully passed away on April 8, 2025 in Pullman,
Washington, and will be lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew
him.
Jerry was born in Colfax, Washington on September 1, 1932. He grew up in
Elberton, Washington, attending school in nearby Palouse. He joined the Navy
after high school, proudly serving his country in the Korean War. He returned to
the U.S. and attended the University of Idaho, intending to pursue a career as an
officer in the Navy. Plans changed when he reconnected with Rena Joanne
Osterlund, an acquaintance from Potlatch, Idaho. They remained happily
married for 71 years. Jerry worked in maintenance and construction for
Washington State University for 30 years, retiring at age 50. He then tried his
hand as a residential and commercial real estate agent for many years in
Pullman, forging friendly community connections that would last for decades.
Jerry is survived by his three children Michael, Karen, and Jeffrey (Margot), six
grandchildren (Derek, Heather [Keith], Rachel [Rob], John, William, and Emily)
and three great grandchildren (Kristen, Lily, and Saiorse). Jerry was survived by
his wife Rena Joanne (Osterlund) by only a few weeks.
Jerry lived a life filled with love and dignity, and will be forever remembered by
those whose lives he touched.
Jerry will be laid to rest with his wife Joanne at the Pullman City Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Corbeill Funeral Home, Pullman, WA.
